Penn Badgley is known for portraying stalker and serial killer Joe Goldberg in Netflix’s psychological thriller ‘You.’ However, unlike the show, the actor does not really like shooting intimate scenes.
According to Variety, the 36-year-old actor talked about his discomfort with shooting sex scenes “having done a fair amount of them in my career.” “That aspect of Hollywood has always been very disturbing to me — and that aspect of the job, that mercurial boundary — has always been something that I actually don’t want to play with at all,” he added.
Badgley also said that he is now older than his romantic partners on the show which makes a difference. He further said that not doing such scenes is important for his real life.

Badgley Said Its Important For His Fidelity To Not Do Such Scenes
The initial seasons of ‘You‘ had plenty of sexual content. He, later on, talked to the showrunner to tone it down which eventually happened in season four. Badgley said that it is important for him in “my real life to not have them.”
After being asked to clarify, Badgley said: “My fidelity in my relationship. It’s important to me.” He then revealed that it was one of the reasons why he wanted to refuse the role.
In 2017, Penn tied the knot with Domino Kirke-Badgley and the two have been happily together ever since. She even encouraged him to do the role and he wasn’t going to listen to anyone except her.
