Batman’s fight against crime is about to take a turn for the worse. ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ is finally coming back to Prime Video after a two-year hiatus. And the initial images released now show that Gotham City is about to take another plunge into darkness.
Season 1 was about building its own version of Batman and his world. Now, Season 2 seems poised to introduce a slew of iconic villains, and the Joker is front and center.
The Joker Finally Steps Into The Spotlight

After a successful debut season, fans can look forward to all 10 episodes of the animated series’ second season on Prime Video on July 31, according to the company. The most exciting news from the new images is the return of the Joker. Season 1 concluded with a tease of the Clown Prince, who was seen trying out a deadly laughing poison.

Now it appears that a terrible plan is underway. One of the new images shows the Joker in the shadows, and another victim is falling victim to his deadly poison. This version of Gotham is not afraid to pull punches.
The series has been noir from the get-go, and the Joker’s arrival may only make Season 2 more disturbing. This is the time that many fans have been waiting for. Batman and the Joker have been one of fiction’s greatest rivalries, and now ‘Caped Crusader’ seems to be ready to delve into that rivalry in depth.

Batman has other threats to contend with; the Joker isn’t the only one. Other images also show classic villains like the Riddler, Scarecrow, and Mad Hatter. The characters appear to have been remodeled to fit into the show’s retro setting, which is heavily inspired by Batman’s early comic book exploits.

Mad Hatter, in particular, stands out thanks to what appears to be a television program called “Hattie’s Tea Party,” suggesting a fresh twist on the villain. Meanwhile, other characters like Jim Gordon, Barbara Gordon, Harley Quinn, and Renee Montoya will continue to be vital in Gotham’s story as it continues to unfold.
Also returning to the series will be Carrie Kelley, who appears to be eager to get in on the action herself in Season 2. Then, there’s the added fun of fan favorite Roxy Rocket debuting in the series. ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ Season 2 has a larger cast of villains, a big battle with the Joker, and everything else is still very noir. So, it seems like it’s poised to make things even more intense than ever.
