There is a long list of actors who have auditioned for the role of Superman including Paul Walker, Ian Somerhalder, Ashton Kutcher, and more. Jack Quaid who is currently part of ‘The Boys‘ is also added to the list now.
Jack Quaid shared that he considered himself to play the role of Superman for which he auditioned for the life action but failed.
Jack Quaid Auditioned For DCEU’s Superman
Jack Quaid voiced for the animated version of of Superman series called ‘My Adventures with Superman’. The actor also auditioned for the role of Clark Kent in the live-action. During an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actor shared about his audition.
Quaid admitted, “I didn’t get very far at all. “I put myself on tape, and it went nowhere, and that’s fine. Like, that’s totally cool, specifically because, I actually know David Corenswet a little bit. We did a pilot years ago that never went anywhere. But he’s one of those people you meet, and you go, ‘Oh, yeah!
He continued, “Whenever they need another one, it’s probably gonna be you.’ That guy is Superman.”

Jack Quaid Wasn’t Surprised By The Rejection
Even after being the voice of Superman, ‘The Boys’ actor wasn’t surprised after getting rejected from the role of Superman. He added, “I remember getting that audition and being like, ‘Yeah, sure, I’m the voice of Superman in a cartoon, but I don’t think I fit the bill physically at all.’ And that’s fine, that’s cool. But it was cool to audition for something like that.”
For now, James Gunn is the new CEO chairman of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran. The Superman movie will also star Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and more.
In January of last year Peter also shared a few details about the plot of the movie. He said, “It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks that kindness is old-fashioned.”
