James Gunn has finally stopped teasing the fans by revealing the cast details of ‘Superman: Legacy’. From keeping it under the wraps to finally revealing Clark Kent and Lois Lane actors, fans cannot be any more excited to see the rebooted version of DC Universe. However, Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy’ will see a known face but in a completely different role.
With the bold decision to reboot the entire franchise, Gunn has a lot to prove to the fans. But currently, the fans are disappointed as he dropped an upsetting update about ‘The Suicide Squad’.

Is ‘Suicide Squad’ Threequel Happening?
During an interview, James Gunn revealed that he does not plan on making a third part of ‘Suicide Squad’. Gunn said, “Yeah, we have talked about it. But the honest truth is, I just have so many hours in a day to work on stuff. And I had such a fun time working in television that I really think that’s what I’m going to spend the next year of my life doing.”
Also when Inside of You asked a similar question, Gunn’s response still reminded the same. As ‘Peacemaker‘ is stemmed from ‘The Suicide Squad‘, fans were worried about the updates over the John Cena starter series. Gunn confirmed that it will develop only after ‘Superman: Legacy’, so ‘Peacemaker 2’ still has a long way to go.

Will ‘The Suicide Squad’ Be Canon For Rebooted DCEU?
James Gunn officially announced on Instagram the cast of ‘Superman: Legacy’, which will also include Nathan Fillion. Not a newbie, Fillion previously played the role of The Detachable Kid in ‘The Suicide Squad’, and now will be bringing the character of Green Lantern Guy Gardner to life. This change created concussion among the fans regarding ‘The Suicide Squad’ being a canon to the new DCU.
A comment commented on the post, “Soooo excited James, this is going to be the greatest Superman movie!!! But what about Nathan’s character in The Suicide Squad??? (TDK) is supposed to be alive??? You are rebooting that part? How does it fit everything?? I cannot understand. Can you explain it? I’m confused”.To which, James Gunn replied, “DC Studios movies (and canon) start with Legacy.”
According to the list of projects in ‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters’, Amanda Waller played by Viola Davis is a part of the revolutionized DCU wherein she will reprise her role from ‘The Suicide Squad’. The events of ‘Waller‘ will take place between ‘Peacemaker‘ seasons 1 and 2. So there are chances that ‘Peacemaker‘ might be a canon even though it stemmed from ‘The Suicide Squad’.
