DC has pulled out the big guns with their upcoming Superman movie. The project is going to be directed by DC head James Gunn. The movie will be the first film in the DC Universe (DCU) and a reboot of the Superman film series. The movie will star David Corenswet as Clark Kent aka Superman for the first time. It also stars some big names in Hollywood like Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, and many more.
Interestingly, James Gunn has put out some very weirdly specific details for a role he is looking to cast. Apart from that, not much else is known about the movie. Viewers can expect the movie to be released in 2025. The upcoming Superman movie is under production now but DC has not revealed anything else.
James Gunn Has Specific Details For Casting
Recently an X post from DCU revealed the details for the casting call. But it is absolutely weird and very specific. The post is in respect to the background actors, and a motion capture performer that the creators are currently looking to hire for the upcoming Superman film.

The post talked about a ‘female stand-in’ who will pay $13 an hour with a guaranteed 8 hours of work minimum. The height has been specified between 4“9 and 5“1. However, the female motion capture performer that DCU is looking for is very specific. The details read “a small/petite female who can move well, with a stipulation for people who have a police/military background.”

James Gunn Will Pay Extra For Getting Soaking Wet
Meanwhile, the weirdly detailed X post also has put in another requirement for the extras. It seems there will be a lot of getting wet in the movie. DCU will be paying an extra $20 for getting soaked over the 2 days of the filming. The soaking wet part will be happening only during ‘some of the scenes’ as the post suggests.
DC is keeping things very much under wraps as nothing much has been revealed. However, James Gunn recently revealed that more than half of the shooting has already been covered. Fans are curious about the plot and want some more details about Corenswet’s Superman. Gunn has revealed that the movie is heading towards a smooth post-production.
