Supergirl‘s new trailer has finally been released by DC Studios, and it’s packed with action, cosmic adventure, and a first look at some of the big names.

It also hints at something even more interesting: the next chapter in the DC Universe’s evolving Krypton story.

Kara’s Journey Expands DCU’s Kryptonian Lore

Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El is finally starring in her own movie, after her first appearance in ‘Superman’. The trailer features Kara with the help of Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley) on a perilous journey through space. It hints at an emotionally charged and visually grand story.

The most interesting thing about ‘Supergirl’ is the fact that it’s linked to the revelations in ‘Superman’. The DCU surprised everyone by reinterpreting the intentions of Jor-El and Lara, the parents of Kal-El, raising new questions about the House of El.

Now, ‘Supergirl’ appears to be ready to expand on those thoughts. The film will delve deeper into Krypton’s past and shed more light on the true meaning of the famous family. That direction might mean Supergirl is more than just a one-off story. Instead, it could be an important element of the DCU’s mythology.

The trailer also showcases some awesome things that have been added to the movie. The fan-favorite character Lobo is brought to life by the larger-than-life Jason Momoa. Matthias Schoenaerts will play Krem of the Yellow Hills, the antagonist who instigates the events of the story.

Also, fans can expect to see David Corenswet as Superman again. The Kryptonian cousins will appear together in at least one scene, which will be entirely in Kryptonian, as previously teased by Alcock and director Craig Gillespie.

A blend of emotion, cosmic showmanship, and big DC Universe connections makes Supergirl one of DC Studios’ most significant releases ever. The most recent trailer offers a glimpse into what Kara’s journey might entail, and it could shape the future of the franchise for years to come.
