Actor and director Ben Stiller returned to Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night to watch the New York Knicks defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-102 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, after missing the series opener earlier in the week due to his appearance at the Met Gala.
Stiller attended Monday’s gala alongside his wife, Christine Taylor. He showed support for the Knicks with an orange tie, while Taylor wore a royal blue gown designed by Bibhu Mohapatra. As he arrived at the event, Stiller flashed six fingers, signaling his prediction that New York would beat Philadelphia in six games.
For Wednesday’s playoff matchup, Stiller opted for a more relaxed look, sporting a black Knicks hoodie while seated courtside. Nearby were Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner. For the unversed, Chalamet had skipped the Met Gala to attend Game 1 at Madison Square Garden earlier in the series.
On Tuesday, Chalamet shared a video of himself knocking down a 3-point shot at the arena. The Knicks responded in the comments, “check your dms we just sent you a 10-day,” jokingly referencing an NBA contract offer.

New York Knicks Take Commanding 2-0 Series Lead Over Philadelphia 76ers

The New York Knicks improved to 2-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinal series after following up their 137-98 Game 1 victory with another win at home on Wednesday night. Philadelphia remained competitive despite playing without star center Joel Embiid, who missed Game 2 because of a knee setback before tipoff.
The 76ers briefly held a lead in the fourth quarter before the Knicks closed the game behind late contributions from Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges. The loss also added to Philadelphia’s postseason history when trailing 0 to 2 in a playoff series.
The franchise has never recovered from that deficit in its previous 15 attempts. After the game, Knicks head coach Mike Brown said New York still needs to improve defensively, particularly when it comes to fouling.
He said, “We’ve got to try to do something about it because they’re just killing us from the free-throw line. It’s tough to win a ballgame if you’re getting beaten from the free-throw line like that versus a really good team. We’ve got to look at every aspect of it.”
Brown added, “I know it’s only two games, but they had 34 (in Game 1) and 28 tonight. That’s 62. We had 17 and 25. So that’s 42 to 62. We have to do something right. I have to do a better job addressing it. Hopefully, it can get evened out a little more throughout the course of the series.”
