There is good news for her fans who wish to see her in a film as there are reports that Dua is reportedly in talks to make her DC Extended Universe debut as Zatanna Zatara.

Dua Lipa To Make Her DCEU Debut Soon
According to a report from CBR, Dua Lipa is in talks to enter the DC Extended Universe as the Mistress of Magic herself, Zatanna Zatara. A July 16 Tweet from a fan update account noted that Dua is in talks with Warner Bros. for a solo Zatanna film.

Artist Mickaël Journou responded to the news the next day with a poster depicting the ‘Future Nostalgia‘ singer as the titular magician. The film is speculatively titled ‘Zatanna: Bloodspell’ with the tagline “Wanna see a magic trick?” subtly displayed in Zatanna’s popular backward speak.

The news of a DCEU adaptation of Zatanna was first confirmed in March 2021. The Academy Award-winning actress and filmmaker was announced as the film’s writer. She had earlier talked about the character of Zatanna, saying: “It’s something that we’ve been working on for a while. I’ve been speaking to Bad Robot [Productions], who are amazing. You want to get the first bit right, which is the script, before you think of anything else.”
The ‘Promising Young Woman‘ filmmaker added that she has been a comic book fan. “I’m such a genre fan. I’m a fan of witchcraft, magic, and comic books, and this is scary and intense.”
Zatanna first appeared in 1964’s Hawkman #4 written by Gardner Fox and illustrated by Murphy Anderson. She is the daughter of magician Giovanni Zatara and mystical Sindella. Her stage magic quickly gave way to putting her genuine magic to use as a hero. Zatanna has become one of DC’s most prominent figures over the years. She was also a part of the Justice League Dark.
Dua Lipa To Maker Her Film Debut With Argylle
The ‘Levitating’ singer will be making her film debut with the spy thriller ‘Argylle’. The film, directed by Matthew Vaughn, will have Dua sharing the screen with Henry Cavill.
The first look of the film was released earlier this year and fans couldn’t keep up their excitement.
The film is based on the 2022 novel of the same name by Ellie Conway and it will be released on Apple TV+.
