Ana de Armas has taken the opportunity to play Marilyn Monroe for her new film ‘Blonde‘. The 30-year-old Cuban and Spanish actress began her career by acting in the lead role in the romantic drama ‘Una rosa de Francia’ in 2006.
She moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to star in the psychological thriller ‘Knock Knock’. Her face was prominent in the industry after her role as a holographic AI projection in the science fiction film ‘Blade Runner 2049’ in 2017. The actress opened up about her transformation into the iconic Monroe for the film ‘Blonde’ at the movie premiere.

What Went Behind The Transformation Of Ana De Armas Into Marilyn Monroe?
Armas shared the details of her journey in the transformation of her appearance to play Marilyn Monroe in the premiere of the movie ‘Blonde’. ET‘s Matt Cohen interviewed the actress and she exclaimed that she spent three hours in the hair and makeup chair every morning to portray the ‘blonde bombshell’.
She also revealed that there were more than 100 wardrobe changes in the movie and that they were all beautiful and iconic. “Every detail is just, you know, perfect. So, it was really amazing,” the ‘Blonde’ actress said.
Armas also praised the hair and makeup team: “We have an incredible crew of my hair and makeup team, and then Jennifer, our costume designer, was incredible too.”

What Did Armas Say About The Film ‘Blonde’?
The movie ‘Blonde’ is nearly a three-hour adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ 700-page novel of the same name. Armas stated that the film was a big production, which covers all 36 years of Monroe’s short life.
“It covers 36 years. So, that process of aging, and the very iconic looks or recreations of films that she did — every day when we achieved that look, and we looked in the mirror and we knew we got it, was like, really beautiful,” the actress explained.
The actress received a 14-minute standing ovation at the film’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival. She stated that the moment was “magical” and “unbelievable.” Armas added, “I didn’t know what to do with myself, and everybody — it gets very emotional because this is the reaction you hope for. But when it happens, it’s a lot.” The movie is releasing in selected theatres and on Netflix on September 16 and September 28 respectively.
