Patrick Mahomes publicly congratulated his wife, Brittany Mahomes, after she received the inaugural Champion for Change Award from United WE.
“Congrats babe! You deserve it! Love you!” Patrick Mahomes commented on Brittany Mahomes’ Instagram post following the award presentation. Brittany replied, “I love you 🥹🤍.”
Brittany officially received the award on May 6, 2026, during United WE’s 35th anniversary celebration at CPKC Stadium. She later shared photos from the event, including images of herself holding the award on the field and posing alongside Patrick Mahomes.
In her Instagram caption, Brittany said accepting the honor at CPKC Stadium carried added significance because the venue was intentionally built to support women’s professional sports. She also thanked United WE and its founder and president, Wendy Doyle, for the recognition.
United WE announced in February that Brittany would become the first recipient of the Champion for Change Award. The organization recognized her contributions as an entrepreneur, investor, co-owner of the Kansas City Current, and advocate for expanding opportunities for women in sports and business.
Doyle said, “The spaces and systems we build determine not just who participates in our economy but how strong it becomes. For 35 years, United WE has worked to advance women’s economic leadership, and Brittany Mahomes exemplifies that leadership in action. As an entrepreneur, investor, co-owner of the Kansas City Current, and mother, she expands opportunity across industries.”
Doyle also praised Mahomes’ growing influence in sports leadership and entrepreneurship. She added, “She is a very independent woman who is really making significant change and using her influence to really impact the sports industry and beyond. We couldn’t think of a better person to recognize.”

How Brittany Mahomes’ Vision Sent KC Current’s Valuation Skyrocketing

The award comes during a period of rapid growth for the Kansas City Current and the broader landscape of women’s sports.
According to a Forbes report published on April 22, 2026, the KC Current is valued at $325 million, making it the second most valuable club in the National Women’s Soccer League behind Angel City FC, which is valued at approximately $340 million.
The Current’s valuation increased 18% over the past year, while the club reportedly generates about $36 million in annual revenue, the highest total in the league.
A major factor behind the franchise’s growth has been the development of CPKC Stadium, a $140 million privately financed venue built specifically for a women’s professional sports team. The stadium opened on March 16, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri, and seats 11,500 fans.

Brittany Mahomes has been one of the primary investors behind the project. Since the Current began play in 2020, the franchise has grown from a startup club without its own stadium into one of the most financially successful teams in women’s soccer. The team also became the first NWSL club to sell out every home game during a season.
