Seth Rollins abruptly walked off the set of Good Morning Football on Thursday morning following a tense on-air exchange with host Kyle Brandt. The incident unfolded just hours before the start of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.
During a segment centered on NFL legend Aaron Rodgers, Brandt repeatedly drew comparisons between NFL careers and professional wrestling. The discussion eventually turned to whether it is more difficult to compete in the NFL at age 42, like Rodgers, or perform at WrestleMania at age 39 like Rollins.
This is when the former WWE champion said, “You say it’s not personal, but it’s starting to feel a bit personal, to be honest with you. The bottom line is that wrestling at WrestleMania is more difficult than playing in the NFL at 42, especially if we’re talking about Aaron Rodgers at the quarterback position.”
He added, “These guys don’t get hit. They’re protected. They don’t get hit. They go down when they want. WrestleMania’s not like that.” Brandt continued to push back on Rollins’ stance.
The host said, “I love wrestling and have watched it my whole life, but I’m not going to sit here on the NFL’s Network and dignify this question. The NFL at 42 vs. wrestling at 39… the NFL at 32 is more impressive than wrestling at 39. The NFL at 22 is more impressive than wrestling at 39. Any seventh-round pick tonight can go off the top rope.”
Moments later, Rollins removed his earpiece and stood up from his seat before exiting the set. He also said, “Yeah, you know what? I don’t really appreciate this. I don’t have to do this. I don’t have to be on your show. I do want to be here, but not when I’m treated like this. I don’t have to do this. You want to steal every segment? That’s your thing.”

Seth Rollins Juggles Injury Comeback And NFL Network Spotlight

Seth Rollins has appeared regularly on Good Morning Football in recent months while recovering from a shoulder injury suffered in October 2025 at Crown Jewel in Perth. The shoulder injury previously kept him out of in-ring competition.
During that time, he joined Kyle Brandt and other hosts, including Manti Te’o, to discuss NFL topics and league storylines. However, he recently made his in-ring return at WrestleMania 42 in Vegas, where he delivered a stellar encounter against Gunther but ultimately lost due to interference from a returning Bron Breakker.
