Amy Sherman Palladino’s creation ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ has been gearing up with its fifth and final season. The shooting of the final season began just a few days before the premiere of season four. It is an American comedy-drama based in the late 50s and early 60s, with lead Rachel Brosnahan.
The show is led by ‘House of Cards’ actor Rachel Brosnahan, who plays the role of Miriam “Midge” Maisel. Midge is a housewife, who discovers that she has a knack for comedy. After separating from her husband, she goes on to pursue her career as a comic. The show is based on the ups and downs of her life and how she handles it all.

Why Is ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Ending After Season 5?
Just before the premiere of the show’s fourth season, Rachel Brosnahan took to her Instagram, announcing the start of a fifth season. She announced that it was going to be their final season, and is going to be a hell of a chapter. Season four premiered in early 2022, in February. The show is apparently ending because the story is “complete”.
Brosnahan wrote “A few days ago we started shooting Season 5! of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It’s bittersweet. The band is back together again and we can’t wait to share season 4 with you starting tomorrow… it’s also going to be our last rodeo. Rest assured our tits are up and it’s going to be a hell of a final chapter. Stay tuned.”

What Is The Show About?
‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ is about a woman who goes out into the world trying to make a career out of her dream. In the first season, we see Midge recognize her talent of being a comic and performing live. Seasons two and three basically show her success as she lands a coveted gig opening up for musician Shy Baldwin.
However, Midge endures a major setback in season four when she makes a joke about Shy’s romantic history during a gig. The season further follows with Midge performing her gigs at a strip club, refusing to go back on legitimate stages. However, things seem to take a turn after she sees her fellow comic and friend Lenny Bruce on stage. Guess we’ll just have to wait for season 5 to see where Midge’s career takes her.
