The Peacock Theatre of Los Angeles seemed to have turned into New York City that needed saving at the 75th Emmy Awards held on Aug 15th. Everyone’s spidey senses went off as we spotted a gorgeous Green Goblin walking the red carpets.

Drag Queen Turned Green Goblin
While we saw many celebrities all donning their Dolce and Gabbana, custom Gucci, Prada and even a pregnant Suki Waterhouse in her jaw-dropping Valentino gown, what stole the show for moments was none other than Drag Queen Princess Poppy (‘RuPaul’s Drag Race‘ contender)
She fashioned a halter neck shimmery gown by Bryn Costume, complete with leaf-shaped jewelry, a mossy bag with weird toy heads attached to it, and prosthetic goblin ears in a macabre yet eye-catching style. She credited her inspiration to have come from pop culture references like ‘Jabba the Hutt’, Roz from ‘Monsters, Inc’., and a witch from the 1985 Tom Cruise movie ‘Legend‘.
In her interview with Entertainment Daily, she explained the idea behind the outfit, “I wanted to do the exact opposite of what is expected of you when you go to an event like this. I wanted to take decorum and turn it on its head.”

Netizens React To The Pop Idol’s Outfit
Princess Poppy also mentioned in her interview, “I wanted to be so shocking that you just have to turn and look at me — in the worst way possible.” This was exactly what the beloved icon did. Many netizens were left confused while others recognized her, lauded, cheered and jested on her out-of-convention pick of the fit.
Well, the night was certainly high on surprising looks, but it’s safe to say that Green Goblin just owned the red carpet.
