The humanitarian deeds by Winton were dug out by his wife who came across a scrapbook with the details of what his husband had done and the names of the children he saved. Parents were not allowed to accompany these children. They were taken care of, by finding host families and funds were raised for the kid’s travel expenses. Sir Nicholas’ mother also played a huge part in the escapade. The London banker was knighted for his kind deed in 2003.

While the younger version will be portrayed by musician and actor Johnny Flynn. Helena Bonham Carter will be playing Nicholas’ mother.

The film is based on the 2014 book ‘If It’s Not Impossible… The Life of Sir Nicholas Winton’ by Winton’s daughter Barbara.
