Agatha Harkness is a sorceress of significant power and experience in the Marvel Universe and is hardly the type of character who requires rescuing. However, that does not necessarily imply that she has not been through some real magical mayhem.
From demonic creatures to a fellow witch turning into her enemy, she has her plate full of handling the magical community. So, let’s look at some of her most challenging opponents.

The Scarlet Witch
Agatha served as a mentor to Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch. However, it wasn’t long before things started to get messy. When Wanda came to know that Agatha had tampered with her memories a battle began between them.
With Wanda’s reality-warping chaos magic, it was a throwdown that could rewrite the very fabric of existence! Agatha might be wise. However, against raw power like Wanda’s, she was on her toes.
Karl Mordo
The Sorcerer Supreme may appear as a friend since Doctor Stephen Strange has a former mentor in Mordo. However, this character has a different attitude toward magic. Mordo believes that sorcery should only be employed in the right measures and this is where he and Agatha differ.
Agatha’s flamboyant use of spells puts them at odds. Their clashes are a battle of philosophies as much as magical might. Additionally, Mordo’s mastery of the mystic arts makes him a formidable opponent, especially when Agatha’s flashy spells might leave her open.
The Elder Gods
These cosmic beings predate humanity and wield power beyond comprehension. Additionally, while not exactly villains in the traditional sense, the Elder Gods view mortals as playthings due to the extent of their power.
Their chaotic magic can unravel reality, and Agatha has found herself caught in their crosshairs more than once. Against entities that defy mortal understanding, even Agatha’s vast knowledge of magic doesn’t feel like enough.

Nightmare
This horrible-looking creature is the lord of the dream dimension, the place where fears and nightmares originate from. Nightmare feeds on the feelings of the person when they are asleep. Agatha’s strong will and connection to the waking world make her a thorn in his side.
Also, their fights are not your run-of-the-mill fights. They are surreal and can easily make one lose track of reality. She fights these powers to free the minds entrapped in Nightmare’s realm.
The Magus
A dark reflection of Adam Warlock, the Magus is a powerful being fueled by malevolent magic and bad intentions. He seeks to reshape reality in his twisted image and Agatha stands as one of the few who can challenge his might.
Additionally, their clashes are epic tests of will, with the fate of the cosmos hanging in the balance. Moreover, Agatha’s knowledge of ancient magic might be her only edge against the Magus’s overwhelming power.
Morgan le Fay
A sorceress from Arthurian legend, Morgan le Fay is as powerful as she is ruthless. Half-sister to King Arthur, Morgan harbors a deep resentment and envy towards him. Her magic is formidable and almost unbeatable.
Additionally, she often clashes with Agatha over matters of power and influence. With their thirst for magical dominance, these two sorceresses are destined to lock horns repeatedly.
