Now that Deadpool and Wolverine have officially come under Marvel, it is recommended to watch X-Men before ‘Deadpool 3’ to catch up with the timeline.

‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ is the first standalone film of the franchise and the debut of Ryan Renolds Deadpool. However, the cameo appearance of Deadpool was what motivated the ‘Deadpool’ franchise. A lot of jokes in Deadpool movies referenced this movie, and in ‘Deadpool 2’, Wade went back in time to kill this version of Deadpool.

The film marks the origin story of Deadpool, the first Marvel character to break the fourth wall in live-action. Deadpool is technically the first time the X-Men universe was revived since we got to see Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus trying to mentor Deadpool in the movie. Since then Ryan Reynolds’ fouled mouth character has become fan-favorite.

    3. Logan (2017)

This is a must-watch film, as it was supposed to be Hugh Jackman’s last appearance as Wolverine, as the character dies in it. This film shows us an old Wolverine who stumbles upon a kid, genetically mutated with Logan’s DNA, giving her the same powers as he, technically making her his daughter. As Wolverine is appearing in ‘Deadpool 3’ there might be a chance that he might be a variant of the 2017’s Logan.

    2. Deadpool 2 (2018)

To go ahead with ‘Deadpool 3’, it is important to watch ‘Deadpool 2’, as Wade Wilson messed with the timelines. Towards the end of ‘Deadpool 2’, we see Yukio and Negasonic Teenage Warhead fix Cable’s time-traveling device for Deadpool. He uses it to go back in time and change a lot of things. Wade Wilson saves his girlfriend from dying and also kills the inferior version of Deadpool.

    1. The Marvels (2023) and Loki (2021-2023)

Marvels have no such connection to ‘Deadpool 3’. But during the post-credit scene Binary along with Beast taking care of Monica Rambeau, who had traveled to a different universe altogether, features the first-ever appearance of X-Men in an MCU movie.

Also, Loki’s TVA is kind of similar to what appears to be in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’s trailer. While Mobius appeared in ‘Loki’, Paradox seems to have acquired a similar role in ‘Deadpool 3’.
