Adam Driver could be bringing one of the X-Men’s most dangerous villains into the MCU much sooner than expected. According to a new report, Driver will play Mister Sinister in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, and the character could rule a mutant region on Battleworld.
While Marvel hasn’t confirmed the news, it’s a pretty close match to what happened in the comics.
The Comics Already Gave Sinister His Own Battleworld
The leak claims that Battleworld may be split into regions, with each region being based around a particular group and/or character. Greenland could be home to Hulk variants, Spider-Island could contain different versions of Spider-Man, and a separate mutant territory could be controlled by Sinister. That would be a pretty big role for Sinister.

This is where things get really interesting. Battleworld was assembled by Doctor Doom from the remains of broken realities in Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić’s 2015 Secret Wars and is under his rule as a godlike being. Each part is ruled by strong barons reporting to Doom.
One of those areas is Bar Sinister, ruled by Mister Sinister himself. The region is essentially a nightmare built around Nathaniel Essex’s obsession with genetics, cloning, and mutant experimentation. That makes a potential Adam Driver appearance feel almost too perfect.
Sinister Could Be ‘Secret Wars’ Wild Card
Mister Sinister is no ordinary mutant villain. According to Marvel, he is a genetic genius and cloning expert who can manipulate his body, heal his wounds, and use powers from mutant DNA. Now envision that character as the ruler of an entire mutant kingdom on Battleworld.

He might be gathering DNA from powerful mutants, making armies of clones, and secretly developing his own plans while Doom thinks he has everything under control.
That’s a pretty accurate description of Sinister. If the rumor is true, ‘Secret Wars’ could introduce Adam Driver’s villain in a way that simultaneously sets up the MCU’s future X-Men saga.
