More rumors have surfaced regarding ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and the final battle has become even more personal. A recent rumor has it that Steve Rogers may end up falling into the hands of Doctor Doom and be locked up in Doom’s castle. This pushes Bucky Barnes to take matters into his own hands.
‘Doomsday’ Could Give Steve Rogers and Bucky Their Biggest Reunion
According to the report, Bucky somehow gets into the castle and saves Steve from Doom before the two former allies eventually battle against one another. It would provide another big moment for Steve and Bucky, if it’s true, after all they’ve been through since ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’.

The two-on-one fight is reported to have a similar emotional tone to their fight with Iron Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War’. The comparison is especially intriguing because in that film Steve and Bucky weren’t just battling an enemy. They were fighting for their relationship, with Tony Stark standing between them and the truth about Bucky’s past.
Now, the roles could be reversed. Rather than the person Steve desperately tries to protect, Bucky might be the one who is breaking into enemy territory to save Steve. The rumor also has it that Doom wears his white armour in the final battle.
Moon Knight Could Have A Surprisingly Small Return
But Moon Knight fans might have a whole other reason to watch. Another alleged detail claims the character makes a very brief appearance as Mr. Knight, with Oscar Isaac’s face reportedly never shown. The cameo was supposedly added during reshoots.

If true, it would be a weird but possible way to introduce Moon Knight into the huge multiverse story. Instead of assigning a major character to Marc Spector, Marvel could just make him a part of the huge superhero puzzle.
The rumors also indicate even larger ‘Secret Wars’ ties. It is said that ‘VisionQuest’ is directly connected with the upcoming crossover, while a character from Earth-838 could appear and Spider-Island may become part of Battleworld.
The latter is especially interesting. It’s believed that Battleworld will play a key role in ‘Secret Wars’, and Marvel has already confirmed that ‘Doomsday’ will unite heroes from various universes. And let’s face it, a Steve & Bucky reunion vs. Doctor Doom is just the emotional payoff that can make ‘Doomsday’ seem more than just another giant superhero battle.
