‘Avengers: Endgame’ might become more than just an encore for Marvel. If Joe Russo is correct and the new footage is meant to be a story bridge into ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, then these minutes might be a subtle way to fill in a big void between the Infinity Saga and Marvel’s multiverse.
Steve And Peggy Could Be Very Significant
The most obvious is a continuation of Steve Rogers’ story after he returned the Infinity Stones. ‘Endgame’ concludes with Steve dancing with Peggy Carter, enjoying the peaceful life he’s always dreamed of. We never got to see what went on between his mission and that emotional reunion, though.

The new footage could show more of Steve’s story, or even tie it up with the multiverse story. The other interesting ones are TVA and Loki. The Avengers’ time heist had huge repercussions throughout the timeline, and a new scene could depict the TVA noticing what took place. That would make ‘Endgame’ much better tied to the multiverse chaos that ensued.
There Might Be A Hint About Doctor Doom
Next, there’s the wildest possibility: Doctor Doom. Victor von Doom doesn’t need four minutes to be introduced properly at Marvel. It requires just a little hint that his story has been linked to the multiverse long before ‘Doomsday’ starts. And, really, it could be the best idea.

The new footage may also just be an extension of Steve and Peggy’s final scene, and include a single piece of information that directly connects to the next Avengers movie. While four minutes might seem like nothing, Marvel has shown that a few seconds can make a big difference in fans’ interpretation of a story. If this is actually a bridge to ‘Doomsday’, then every second is important.
The biggest question is whether Marvel will make the connection obvious or leave fans hunting for clues. A brief glimpse of the TVA, Loki, Doctor Doom, or even Steve’s altered timeline could completely reframe Endgame after all these years. If Marvel really wants audiences walking into ‘Doomsday‘ with a missing piece finally in place, these four minutes could be much more significant than they sound.
