Fans have been speculating about who will play Reed Richards for a long time before the cameo happened. Now after the announcement of the ‘Fantastic Four’ movie at Comic-Con, fans are wondering whether Krasinski will reprise his role or not.

Anson Mount Sheds Light On Some Interesting Details
In an interview with Esquire, the Black Bolt actor Anson Mount spoke about the cameo appearance of Illuminati. According to what he said actors like Krasinski and Patrick Stewart were not even present when he was shooting for his role. His parts came up in reshoots and Krasinski’s contract was not even signed by then. Apparently, they were planning to either substitute their shots or transplant faces using CGI.
Mount said, “No, he was actually not there! [Laughs] He was shooting Picard. That was a very interesting shoot because my role came up in the reshoots. As you can imagine, several of the actors were quite busy.”
He continued, “Patrick was not there. Chiwetel [Ejiofor] was not there. Krasinski’s contract wasn’t even done. He wasn’t there. We had actors playing those roles, knowing that they were going to either be substituting their shots or transplanting faces. I’ve never done anything quite like that, and I was in disbelief of how well it cut together.”
John Krasinski Comments On His Return As Reed Richards
Krasinski sat down with ‘The Tonight Show,’ host Jimmy Fallon and hinted about his return as Reed Richards. Fallon said that he knew Krasinski was, “not allowed to say anything” about the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four‘ movie. Krasinski then responded by saying simply “Nope”. Then he said “They don’t tell you anything,” which led Fallon to conclude, “Not until right before you’re about to shoot.”
Fallon then talked about the rumor that Emily Blunt might play Sue Storm in the movie. To this, Krasinski replied, “Jimmy, I’m going to tell you on your show, it…” The actor then mimicked being shot by a dart. He then came to and said, “It’s actually a Marvel dart.”
