It isn’t a secret that comic book movies are not doing great in recent times, especially the Marvel movies. The quality of content has took a massive dip and this has led to many reputed directors criticizing these comic book movies. Now, Chris Hemsworth, known for playing Thor in the MCU, has replied to these directors’ take on the franchise and superhero movies.
Hemsworth’s aim is at bigshots of Hollywood. Directors like Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, etc. have been critical of superhero movies. Due to the over-usage of CGI and their stories, they believe it is not the real “cinema”.

Chris Hemsworth Comments On Big Directors’ Harsh Criticism Of MCU Movies
In a recent interview with UK Times, the actor said, “It felt harsh. And it bothers me, especially from heroes. It was an eye-roll for me, people bashing the superhero space. Those guys had films that didn’t work too, we all have. When they talked about what was wrong with superheroes, I thought, cool, tell that to the billions who watch them. Were they all wrong?”
It was not like Hemsworth was trying to defend the underwhelming projects of Marvel Studios. He himself criticized his last MCU movie, ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’. He claimed he became a parody of himself. As many claimed, the last Thor solo movie affected Hemsworth’s God Of Thunder.
These major directors along with many believe that comic book movies are driving the industry away from more character-driven artistic movies and may lead to their end. However, it seems a bit far-fetched school of thought. A major chunk of the audience indeed loves comic book movies however, the “cinema” loving audience belongs to a different niche.

‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ Director Is Up For Working With Chris Hemsworth On Future MCU Project
Chris Hemsworth recently played a major role in ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga‘. The director of the movie, George Miller really loved working with Hemsworth. While talking to ComicBook.com, Miller talked about working with Hemsworth for ‘Thor 5’.
He said, “I would work with Chris on anything. I really would. He’s a wonderful actor. He’s got the full range of all the skills. I mean, you’ve got to be athletic, physically. But, you also gotta be athletic emotionally and intellectually to take on these very, ultimately fairly complex, any role really. So, I was very lucky with all my cast and particularly in the way that Anya and Chris matched each other. Particularly towards the end of the month.”
Marvel as of now, has not finalized the director for the next Thor movie. It is evident that they will move past Taika Waititi after how Hemsworth and the audience felt about ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’. So time will tell whether Marvel will bring Miller to team up again with Chris Hemsworth.
