‘Deadpool & Wolverine’s “Please Silence Your Phone” PSA Is Now Playing In Theatres And It’s Over The Top Crazy

Marvel’s highly anticipated upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘ movie has its promotional campaign in full swing. The movie is Marvel Studios’ major offering this year, and its team is well-focused on its theatrical release. The production is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the film to ensure seamless box office success.

While ticket sales are already live in select countries, there’s a special warning that Wolverine is seemingly issuing through a PSA for the film’s future viewers. A fan-recorded clip of the PSA recently went viral on social media after being leaked online. Here’s what’s in it.

The ‘Please Silence Your Phone’ PSA of the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ film was originally exclusive to CinemaCon attendees of the R-rated flick. But after a fan recorded the video and leaked it unofficially online, the anticipation among fans has intensified further with both Deadpool and Wolverine’s character traits on full display in the PSA.

Deadpool & Wolverine’ stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as the superhero leads. While their fans are highly anticipating the release of the film, the two characters have graced the theatre screens at CinemaCon this year to issue a stern warning to rude Marvel fans.

Many fans often forget to silence their phones or disregard theater etiquette while watching a film in theatres, and thereby disrupt the cinema viewing experience. In the PSA shown at this year’s CinemaCon, Reynolds and Jackman gave a harsh rebuke to such fans, fittingly in line with their characters.

In this PSA, Deadpool seems to take a polite approach, though Wolverine forcefully intervenes, angrily silencing a buzzing phone. “Turn your f*cking phone to silent,” Jackman’s Wolverine exclaims in the PSA, censored with beeps. Deadpool takes a more diplomatic approach and urges the audience to silence their phones or put them on silent.

This ‘Please Silence Your Phone’ PSA was a masterstroke by the production team to promote the film as well as to deliver a message to the viewers in one go. It also managed to perfectly capture the essence of the characters, hinting at Wolverine’s short temper in the movie.

It is also surprising that Disney, Marvel’s parent company, allowed the R-rated PSA despite Deadpool’s previous outings under 20th Century Fox. In an interview, Reynolds expressed pride in Disney’s decision, stating it added depth to the company’s entertainment portfolio.
