Director Shawn Levy Teases Taylor Swift’s MCU Debut As Dazzler In ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

Shawn Levy, director of this year’s highly anticipated ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, remains tight-lipped on the mystery of the MCU. Will Taylor Swift sprinkle her magical stardust on the cursed state of MCU or it’s just the right use of that swiftie clout?

The rumors of superstar Taylor Swift putting on a superhero cape to play the Dazzler alongside her Deadpool best friend have been circling H-town for quite a while now. Director Levy kept the speculation alive during the 2024 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards, playfully dodging questions about Swift’s bejeweled presence in the project. No confirmation has been given but the friends are still holding onto that hope.

Shawn Levy who just received the honor of Director of the Year Award at the CinemaCon 2024, teased some very nervous fans. When asked about Taylor Swift’s rumored role as Dazzler in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ by ET, the NFL fan cleverly evaded confirmation or denial, quipping, “That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview.” He did add a little urgency at the end, “I’m going to literally walk out of the frame and save myself, otherwise Ryan’s taking a hit out on me.” This could be translated in many ways and aren’t Swifties great at interpretations?

Speculation around Swift’s MCU debut intensified because of many factors thanks to the Machiavellian and detective Benson kind of bond she shares with her fans. But there are a few to give a solid ground to these theories outside the Swiftie speculation world.

First is her strong connection to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and their family, she literally made their children fall in love with each other in her songs. Then we have the director Levy’s love for football, especially his support for Tay’s new man which was caught on camera last fall. Apart from these we also have the classic fan theory of the Deadpool teaser and ‘All Too Well Short Film’ shot at the same location. Despite the mounting clues, Levy chose to keep the mystery alive, he wants to keep fans anticipating possible surprises in store.
