Josh Brolin Hints at His Return As Thanos In MCU’s ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

Josh Brolin, the Thanos we grew to love (or fear) in the Infinity Saga, has sparked a wildfire of speculation with comments hinting at his return to the MCU. Additionally, despite Thanos dying in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ nothing is impossible in the MCU due to the multiverse sagas.

Even in the upcoming ‘Deadpool and Wolverine Hugh Jackman is making his return despite dying in ‘Logan‘. So, with Avengers: Secret Wars’ looming large on the horizon, could the Mad Titan be making a comeback, this time as the even more powerful King Thanos?

Brolin, known for his enigmatic charm, hasn’t explicitly confirmed his return. However, in a recent interview with comicbook.com, he playfully dropped hints that have fans eagerly dissecting his every word. “You know, I hear kind of like through the grapevine, that they’re gonna bring him back,” he said.

This coy statement, coupled with the multiverse-hopping nature of ‘Secret Wars,’ has ignited theories that Thanos might be back in a new, more powerful form. Additionally, the Marvel comics also have a perfect story for King Thanos. So, Brolin’s return might not be as far-fetched.

Who Is The ‘Much More Powerful Thanos Variant’ Of King Thanos?

King Thanos is essentially Thanos on steroids, a nightmarish vision of what could have been if his plans in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ had gone differently. He is a variant from another reality, one where his mad quest for universal balance wasn’t thwarted by the Avengers. He’s achieved his twisted goal, wiping out most of existence and ruling over a desolate wasteland.

This Thanos is even more powerful, having not only collected the Infinity Stones but potentially wielding multiples from different conquered realities. Additionally, He’s a foe unlike any the MCU heroes have ever faced. As he is the first Thanos who’s tasted victory and likely won’t go down without a universe-shattering fight.
