“I Want There To Be Great Movies In Theatres”: Kevin Feige Speaks His Mind On Marvel-DC Rivalry

President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has always been a fierce supporter of comic book movies, ever since his first stint at it in the first X-Men movie. In a recent interview, Feige backed up this stance by emphasizing that more great superhero movies are better for audiences, regardless of the source being DC or Marvel.

As one of the strongest men in Hollywood at the moment, Feige’s support of DC under its new leadership is keenly being watched by fans. Feige opened up about being congratulated for the box office success of Blue Beetle and also added more on the DC and Marvel relationship.

In an Interview with Cinemablend, Feige pointed out that the general moviegoers do see the rivalry that the hardcore fans impose upon both studios. According to him, someone had congratulated him on the box office success of the recent DC film ‘Blue Beetle’ which furthermore backs up his claims on the subject.

Somebody just said, ‘Congrats on Blue Beetle’ to me! People don’t know” Feige said to Cinemablend. This shows that the footfall rushing into theatres for superhero movies is not bothered about the studio behind it, but instead wants to find leisure in a high-quality entertaining flick. It is an interesting sign that great superhero films can transcend studio boundaries and unite the genre as a whole.

For Feige, Superman is the epitome of a great superhero movie that people of all ages and interests can get behind. Though he may be Marvel’s top executive, Feige still remains a true comic book lover with his views and stance on the genre as a whole.

As DC continues to undergo its revamp under James Gunn, Feige will surely be watching closely and rooting for a unified goal of giving us, the fans, more “great movies in theatres” to look forward to for years to come. With this outlook and scope for collaboration in the future, fans can be hopeful regarding both Marvel and DC projects on the big screen, including a big crossover that hasn’t been ruled out by Feige as well.
