Tom Holland has made it clear that he would like to wear the iconic black suit of Spider-Man one day, and it’s not hard to see why. The Symbiote is one of the coolest in Spider-Man’s history. However, for Marvel, the bar is already very high.
Holland has praised Tobey Maguire’s black suit, but he has also pointed toward the way Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 handled the symbiote. The game didn’t treat it like a simple costume change. The suit felt alive. It moved differently, transformed around Peter’s body, and gradually became part of his identity. That’s exactly what Marvel would want when it comes to live-action.
The Black Suit Needs To Feel Alive

Giving Holland’s Peter Parker the symbiote won’t be enough. The suit would have to be personable, something fans will expect. They will want to see the change take place naturally. They’ll want the symbiote to respond to Peter’s feelings and make him feel noticeably more aggressive, and change his fighting style.

More importantly, the audience needs to understand why Peter doesn’t immediately get rid of it. This is where Holland’s version might be especially intriguing. Following ‘No Way Home‘, Peter was all alone. MJ had no recollection of him. Ned didn’t remember him. He no longer has ties to the Avengers and has sacrificed his personal life to save the ones he cares for.
Now visualize the symbiote showing up at that very moment. In ‘Brand New Day‘ Peter rekindled some connections. However, he was still alone with MJ, making it clear that she didn’t feel for him at all. He was still working by himself without the Avengers. That puts him at the perfect spot for the Black Suit.
Peter’s Loneliness Could Make the Story Hit Harder

The black suit might offer Peter everything he longs for. He becomes stronger. More confident. More intimidating. The symbiote might seem more like a friend than a threat for someone who has lost most of their friends. And that’s what would make the eventual corruption so painful.

Peter may not be aware that the source of his power is transforming him. He gets angry. His impulses to violence grow stronger. Eventually, the suit is no longer a garment Peter wears, but one that Peter needs.
That might be a visual representation of all of Peter’s problems since ‘No Way Home’. And when Venom decides to get involved, the stakes are raised. Tom Holland is already craving the suit. Now it’s up to Marvel to make it feel worthy of the character’s history and the very high bar set by the previous Spider-Man stories.
