Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has always been one of the MCU’s most human heroes. He started as a teenager trying to balance school, friendships, and superhero responsibilities, eventually becoming a much more isolated Peter Parker after ‘No Way Home’. However, the version of Peter we’re about to see after ‘Brand New Day‘ could be very different.
Peter Parker Might Enter His Veteran Era Soon
The physical transformation Tom Holland has undergone for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ has sparked plenty of conversation, with the actor appearing noticeably more muscular than he did in earlier MCU appearances. Of course, getting bigger doesn’t automatically mean Peter will become the strongest Avenger.

But the timing is hard to ignore. Peter isn’t the same inexperienced hero we met in ‘Captain America: Civil War’. He has fought Thanos’ forces, survived the Blip, lost Aunt May and watched his entire personal life disappear after choosing to protect the multiverse.
That’s a lot of experience and a lot of emotional baggage. ‘Brand New Day’ presents Peter as a more mature and battle-tested Spider-Man. And that’s important if the upcoming Avengers movies are going to push him toward the center of the MCU.
Tony Stark’s death in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ left an enormous emotional hole in the franchise. Peter was arguably the character most personally affected by Tony’s sacrifice, making their relationship one of the MCU’s most meaningful mentor-student dynamics. If Marvel wants Peter to inherit some of Tony’s narrative importance, his journey has already given them the foundation.
‘Secret Wars’ Could Be Peter’s Biggest Test Yet
The idea of Spider-Man becoming one of the MCU’s primary heroes becomes even more interesting when ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’ enter the picture. Peter has always been at his best when the stakes are enormous, but the character remains emotionally grounded.

That’s precisely why he could work as an anchor for a universe filled with cosmic heroes, mutants and multiversal chaos. He doesn’t need to become the new Iron Man. In fact, trying to turn Peter into Tony 2.0 would probably miss what makes him special.
Instead, Marvel could make him the emotional center. He could be the hero who reminds everyone what they’re actually fighting to protect. So maybe Tom Holland’s new Spider-Man isn’t simply about bigger muscles. Maybe Marvel is preparing Peter Parker for the biggest responsibility of his life.
