There has been a lot of speculation about Doom and Bruce Banner, especially because ‘Avengers: Endgame’ never showed Doom anywhere near the Avengers.
However, there is one moment that might have everything to do with the original movie without altering it.
Hulk’s Snap Could Have Caught Doom’s Attention
The easy explanation is Bruce Banner’s second snap. Following Tony Stark’s death in the battle against Thanos, Hulk restores everyone who was gone during the Blip using the Infinity Stones. It’s a big moment.

The lives lost in the universe are restored, and if Doom was secretly observing events through technology connected to the multiverse or time travel, he could have witnessed Hulk accomplish something that directly connected to his own obsession.
Loss is a common theme in Doom’s story, especially his attempt to rescue or redeem the people he failed to save. The Avengers could have turned around a tragedy of this magnitude, and watching Hulk do it might have given Doom a bad idea: If the Avengers could reverse the Blip, maybe his losses could be reversed as well.
That would be more than just a heroic moment for Hulk. It may be the event that put Doom on the path towards his bigger plan.
Why Wouldn’t Hulk Remember Doom?
If Doom does battle Hulk and defeats him quite soundly, then there’s an obvious question: why isn’t Bruce ever talking about him? A possibility is that Hulk’s memory of the encounter was lost or distorted by Doom.

Before launching his greater scheme, Doom might have been collecting data on the Avengers, their successes and failures. Hulk’s snap might have taught him that reality is malleable, and that what was once impossible can be made possible.
If ‘Endgame: Encore’ actually has this scene, then Marvel could portray it as a piece of the MCU history that has been unknown before. Basically, the thought of Doom watching the Avengers save half the universe, only to realize that he can do the same for himself sounds like the kind of setup Doom would plan.
