What if Doctor Doom‘s war against the multiverse isn’t simply about power, revenge or control? What if it’s actually about protecting his family? A new online rumor surrounding ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has introduced a surprisingly personal motivation for Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor von Doom, potentially connecting him to Wanda Maximoff and her two sons.

Why Doctor Doom Could Be Connected To Wanda’s Children

According to insiders, Doom is married to an alternate-universe version of Wanda, specifically the Wanda from Earth-838, who appeared in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. The same rumor claims that Billy and Tommy are actually Doom’s biological children in this reality.

It’s an enormous claim, but there’s currently no reliable evidence supporting it. The leak offers an interesting explanation for why several alleged plot leaks have placed Wanda alongside Doom. In ‘WandaVision’, Wanda created an entire family inside the Hex, including her twin sons.

However, their existence became complicated after the Hex collapsed. Later, ‘Multiverse of Madness’ established that Wanda was willing to cross universes to reunite with versions of Billy and Tommy who existed elsewhere.

This makes the idea of an alternate Wanda having a family with Doom particularly interesting. If Billy and Tommy are his children, Doom’s desire to reshape reality could become an attempt to preserve a family he believes the multiverse has taken away from him.

The ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer Raises One Big Question

There’s one major problem with this theory, though. In the second ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ trailer, Sue Storm describes Doom as a smart and kind man from long ago. That description raises questions about his background and whether he belongs to the same universe as the rumored Earth-838 Wanda.

Still, the emotional angle is fascinating. Doom is traditionally one of Marvel’s most dangerous and intelligent villains, driven by an obsession with control and superiority. But imagine a version of Doom who isn’t trying to conquer the multiverse simply because he believes he deserves it. He’s doing it because he wants his family back.

A villain willing to destroy universes for his children could make ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ considerably more heartbreaking. And honestly, that would be a much more personal reason to wage war on the entire multiverse.
