The end of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘, where Wanda Maximoff seemed to sacrifice herself under Mount Wundagore, has left Marvel fans with a lot of unanswered questions.
Theories about Scarlet Witch‘s return in the MCU are still going strong, and one of the latest may have a direct connection to Doctor Doom and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
Franklin Richards Could Hold the Key To Wanda’s Return

The theory is that the events of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ have a direct impact on Doctor Doom getting Franklin Richards. Doom could use Franklin’s incredible reality-bending powers to bring Wanda back to life, just as Franklin is said to have brought Sue Storm back to life after the fight with Galactus.

Once Wanda returns, Doom would present himself not as a conqueror but as the only person capable of saving the collapsing Multiverse. He could point out that the incursions are threatening to destroy reality and say that Wanda’s actions in ‘Multiverse of Madness’ were pushing the Multiverse towards catastrophe.
Wanda feels guilty of all she has done, and she may think that the only way to redeem herself is to help Doom, so she can avoid even more tragedy. Rather than manipulating her through force, Doom could win her trust by appealing to her desire for redemption.
Could The “Latverian Witch” Be Scarlet Witch?

The theory has been even more popular since San Diego Comic-Con, when Marvel revealed a mysterious “Latverian Witch” costume. Many fans thought the outfit was Wanda’s. If true, it may indicate that Scarlet Witch will be returning in a completely new look, and perhaps working with or alongside Doctor Doom for a while.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Marvel Studios. The fate of Wanda is one of the biggest mysteries in the MCU, and the identity of the Latverian Witch is still unknown. Still, the parts come together interestingly.
A redeemed Wanda, a manipulative Doctor Doom, and Franklin Richards’ incredible powers could form one of ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘s most emotionally compelling storylines. Regardless of whether the theory holds true or not, it’s no wonder that fans are already envisioning Scarlet Witch’s much-anticipated return to the MCU.
