The wildest part of this rumored ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ plot may not be the huge superhero battle or even the destruction of multiple universes. It could be the way Doctor Doom allegedly turns the Multiverse’s collapse into the foundation for his own reality.
Doom is not just fighting to survive the Incursions, if the leak is true. He wants them to happen. And that would make the villain’s plan feel much closer to the comic-book version of Doom that Marvel has been building toward.
Doctor Doom Apparently Has No Intention Of Saving The Multiverse
The story starts with Doom attempting to stop the Incursions. He goes to the Fantastic Four with a proposal to use his giant cannons to split different Earths and prevent the universes from colliding. That sounds heroic. But, apparently, Doom has other ideas.

Ultimately, he lets the Incursions go on because he thinks the destruction will provide him with the chance to recreate the Multiverse in his own likeness. But most of all, he wants to use that new reality to resurrect his deceased family.
That changes Doom from someone desperately trying to stop the apocalypse into the person deliberately allowing it to happen. It also sounds pretty close to the type of reality-changing ambition of ‘Secret Wars’ and Battleworld.
Loki’s Powers Could Be The Key To Doom’s Endgame
The most revealing one is said to be when the universes finally merge and are destroyed. Only Doom remains. Then the movie reveals that he has stolen Loki’s powers. If true, it could be one of the biggest parts of the whole Multiverse Saga.

Loki’s position at the center of the branching timelines makes his powers fundamentally different from simply gaining another superpower. If Doom can have that power, he can survive the collapse and have control over whatever follows.
That also makes for a very interesting segue into ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. If ‘Doomsday’ is going to be the end of the Multiverse and Doom is holding the power once associated with its guardian, Marvel could be setting up a reality where Doom isn’t merely ruling the remains. He may be the one who determines reality’s future.
