Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ concludes on an emotional note, but one moment has been overlooked and has launched a fascinating fan theory. As the movie comes to a close, Peter Parker visits Aunt May’s grave and places a bouquet.

However, moments later he walks into a flower shop and confidently picks up another bouquet. It’s a short clip, but it does ask one interesting question: Who were these second flowers for?

Peter’s visit to Aunt May’s grave is heartbreaking, serving as a reminder of the enormous sacrifices he has made. After saying goodbye, he heads to a flower shop and immediately reaches for another bouquet without hesitation.

What is remarkable is not just the number of flowers he buys, but how sure he is. He doesn’t hesitate; he doesn’t wonder. Rather, he behaves like someone carrying out a plan he had already made.

There’s no family left for Peter to visit, so it only makes sense that fans will wonder about the flowers being for someone else. The most apparent one is MJ, the character who has been at the heart of Peter’s emotional roller coaster through ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

Peter didn’t reveal himself to MJ at the end of ‘No Way Home’ because he wanted to keep her safe. That was one of the most heart-wrenching endings to the MCU. However, if ‘Brand New Day‘ subtly teases that Peter is carrying flowers for MJ, it might mean something big has happened before the audience got a hold of him.

Rather than unexpectedly appearing at her doorstep, Peter may have already found a safe way to reconnect with her off-screen. This also lends credence to the theory that Ned recognizing Peter wasn’t the only surprise in the end.

It could be that Jean taking control of him and others resulted in people remembering him. Or it could just be Ned’s muscle memory. This is something that Marvel has done before, letting the audience determine what’s happening through visuals rather than dialogue, and it may be another instance of that.

But of course, Marvel hasn’t said what the second bouquet actually means. Nevertheless, the flowers could represent much more than a mere gift if they were indeed for MJ. They could quietly reveal that Peter Parker’s greatest relationship has already found its way back, without the film ever needing to say it aloud.
