The 2024 Superbowl revealed the most awaited trailer of the year- Deadpool and Wolverine. The excitement was two-fold as ‘Deadpool 3’ is the only Marvel release of the year and the return of Hugh Jackman as the iconic Wolverine after seven years.
The project will be the salvation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, breaking its trend of box office failures. Also with the Fox and MCU mergers, the return of certain ‘X-Men’ characters is confirmed. The recent trailer drop delights the audience with the iconic Deadpool humor, without revealing any plot details.
Deadpool Exaggeration Of Marvel Jesus Might Be True
The ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ trailer began with TVA recruiting Wade Wilson to deal with the timeline messed up by him, in the sequel. As Paradox shows Deadpool around the TVA, he finds himself in a room filled with mini televisions showcasing the clippings of the previous Marvel films. Hilariously Merc with a Mouth also salutes Captain America, hyping himself, by saying, “your little cinematic universe is about to change forever.” Also, Deadpool hyped his need in the franchise by calling himself the “messiah”, declaring himself the “Marvel Jesus.”
But is Deadpool truly the messiah, the Marvel Jesus? Keeping the Deadpool humor aside, since the ‘Avengers: End game’, the MCU has had a hard time managing its box office collection. The projects became dull, and the VFX looked immature and the superhero fatigue kicked in. But Deadpool calling himself the messiah, might not be an exaggeration, but the fact that MCU needs to be saved and only the Merc with a Mouth can do it.

How Deadpool And Wolverine Will Save MCU From Itself
The merger between Fox and MCU brought back two of the fan-favorite and most famous characters- Deadpool and Wolverine under one roof, which was teased since the first film Deadpool. However, the film single-handedly is capable enough to save the MCU from its recurring trend of failures.
Moreover, ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ will build on the multiversal plot, and kickstart the foundation for ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. Also, the speculated end of the Fox X-Men universe is all put forth with a clip showcasing the fallen Fox logo. Also unlike the previous Marvel films, the audience is familiar with the characters, especially Hugh Jackman Wolverine. But the MCU cannot be only dependent on the film, the franchise also needs to follow up, keeping its audience engaged and improving its quality content.
