Even before ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has fully settled into fans’ minds, attention is already turning toward Peter Parker’s next adventure. Marvel Studios is reportedly in discussion with Tom Holland for ‘Spider-Man 5’ and the actor has indirectly made it clear that he’s not ready to hang up the suit anytime soon.
Now, a new rumor has been circulating that has everyone excited about what might be Peter Parker’s darkest chapter yet.
‘Spider-Man 5’s Rumored Story Sounds Like Peter Parker’s Worst Nightmare

The latest rumor claims the sequel to ‘Brand New Day‘ will be called ‘Spider-Man: The Darkest Day’. If it’s true, the name alone implies a much more dramatic and passionate narrative than has been witnessed before. While Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed any of these details, the direction they’ve been rumored to be going would continue the character’s evolution after the dramatic events of the film.

One of the biggest rumors is about Peter Parker’s mutation and his new organic webbing. Rather than treating these powers as simple upgrades, the sequel could reportedly explore the personal consequences of Peter becoming something entirely new.
It is the perfect opportunity to write a more psychological story, where Peter has to keep up the incredible powers he’s acquired, while also maintaining what defines him. The leak also states that Venom may finally make his much-anticipated appearance in the MCU.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has long been expected to face the legendary symbiote, and Venom would be the perfect candidate to add to Peter’s mutation. The darker tone teased by the rumored title would certainly fit one of Spider-Man’s most dangerous enemies.
The Defenders And Scorpion Are Also Rumoured To Return For The Film

The rumours do not end there. Scorpion is also rumored to be making a return, finally paying off a storyline that has lingered since ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’. A second showdown between Peter and Mac Gargan would allow Marvel to revisit one of the franchise’s mysteries, and increase the stakes even more.

The Defenders may also be called up to help New York as the threats get bigger in the fifth film. ‘Spider-Man 5’ will likely focus on Peter Parker, but with the street-level heroes appearing, it would also establish Spider-Man as one of the city’s most important protectors.
Assuming Marvel maintains its release schedule, ‘Spider-Man 5’ will likely be released between 2028 and 2029, following ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. At this time, all of the plot points are firmly in the rumour category. But if any of this is true, then Peter Parker’s next film might be his most personal, emotional, and action-packed ever.
