‘Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’: Release Date, Plot, Characters And More

2018 bought Miles Morales to the big screen in ‘Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse’ and 2023 will introduce the fans to the multiple variants of Spider-verse across the universe in ‘Across the Spider-Verse’. And again in 2024, Miles and his gang of web-slingers will be back with yet another adventure to fight off yet another villain. The Oscar-winning animated film received positive reception among critics and the audience.

‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ incorporated coming-of-age themes along with a stellar hip-hop soundtrack by Post-Malone and a talented voice cast including Nicolas Cage, Chris Pine, and Shameik Moore. Now the pressure on 2023 ‘Across the Spider-Verse‘ is to live up to the hype of Marvel fans and critics. More importantly, the franchise introduced the mixed Puerto Rican and African-American heritage of Miles – a much-needed inclusivity to the Marvel superhero lore. But here is all we know about the third installment – ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse‘.

‘Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’ Release Date

According to the IMDb page, ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ was announced to release in the summer of 2024. This will be the first time a Spider-Verse movie will be released in the first quarter of the year as the 2018 film was a Christmas release. The latest MCU multiverse film ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ will release on March 29, 2023. Also, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ will be a summer release as well.

    Meet The Cast

It is no surprise that ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse‘ will focus on Miles Morales hence Shameik Moore is expected to return as his voice. However, Jake Johnson’s Peter B Parker and Hailee Steinfeld’s Spider-Gwen won’t leave Miles’s side. There is no official confirmation regarding the supporting cast which also included Oscar Issac’s Spiderman 2099 debuting in ‘Across the Spiderverse‘. The same fate also lies for the other newly introduced co-stars like Karan Soni, Issa Rae, and Daniel Kaluuya who will be the voice of Pavitr Prabhakar, Spider-Women, and Spider-Punk, respectively.

    ‘Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’ Plot

    Spider-Man and Spot

The details regarding the plot have not been revealed but the narrative will explore the multiversal concept of Spider-Verse. The 2018 movie found several Spider-people appearing in Miles’s world. And the 2023 Miles will be seen journeying through the multiverse along with Gwen fighting against the interdimensional villain the Spot. Perhaps ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ will make the team rise above their different ideals and unite against a villain who would be larger than the Kingpin, the Spot, or anyone else Miles has encountered before.

‘Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’ Almost Had Another Name

    Miles Morales

The writing and directing crew are the same for both the second and third installments of the Spider-verse franchise. In 2021, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller explained that they had too many ideas to fit into one movie, resulting in them dividing the story into two sequels instead. Initially, it was titled ‘Across the Spider-Verse Part Two’ when confirmed, but later it was changed to ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse‘.
