Tom Hiddleston may have just made Loki’s fate in ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ even more mysterious. When asked whether the God of Stories will die again, Hiddleston refused to give a straight answer. And that unsurprisingly made the speculation around his fate even worse.
Loki’s Fate Could Be More Complicated Than Death

“Look, if I keep going down the path of the end of this sentence, I will find myself revealing things… it depends on what you… I have to stop,” Hiddleston stated. That is exactly the kind of answer that makes Marvel fans suspicious. Hiddleston has played Loki for more than a decade, and the character has already experienced multiple apparent deaths.

However, after the events of ‘Loki’ Season 2, his role in the MCU has become much bigger than simply being Thor’s mischievous brother. Recent rumors surrounding Doomsday have offered several different possibilities for Loki. Some alleged leaks claim he could die during the movie, as Doom will rip his heart out.
Other reports suggest Loki may fake his death and eventually assemble a team on Battleworld. None of those details have been confirmed, but Hiddleston’s response makes the speculation harder to ignore. The key phrase may be Hiddleston stopping himself before completing his answer.
If Loki simply died in the traditional sense, there would be little reason for the actor to be so careful. Instead, the answer could hint that ‘Doomsday’ plays with the meaning of Loki’s “death.” That would fit the character perfectly.
The God Of Stories Could Be Crucial To Doom’s Plan

Loki ended his Disney+ series by becoming the God of Stories, holding the branching timelines together and essentially becoming one of the most important figures in the MCU’s multiverse. That makes him particularly valuable in a movie centered around Doctor Doom and the collapse or restructuring of realities.

There are already signs that Loki has a significant role in ‘Doomsday’. He is part of the announced cast, and Marvel’s current promotional material continues to emphasize the importance of Loki to the multiverse storyline. So perhaps Loki does die.
Maybe he sacrifices himself again. Maybe Doom kills him. Or maybe his “death” is simply another Loki trick, allowing him to disappear before returning when the heroes need him most. For a character who has made a career out of cheating death, the most surprising thing would be if Loki actually stayed dead.
