The latest episode of ‘VisionQuest’ has raised an interesting question the MCU hasn’t properly addressed since ‘Avengers: Endgame’: What happened to Pepper Potts and Stark Industries after Tony Stark’s death?

Damage Control Took Control Of Tony Stark’s Technology

Stark Industries didn’t just go out of business after Tony’s sacrifice, and there’s little indication that the company ever went bankrupt. Pepper had already taken over as CEO before Tony’s death, so she was more than capable of keeping the business running.

But the company’s ties with the government and its military technology were becoming more complex. Keep in mind what happened in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’. The Department of Damage Control began its investigation after Mysterio attacked London using a drone system connected to a satellite.

Even Stark Industries’ technology was questioned, and Happy Hogan was in trouble with the law. Eventually, he was assisted by Matt Murdock, who told him to hire a lawyer. But that wasn’t the end of it. Damage Control appeared in Ms. Marvel, hunting mutants like Kamala Khan using confiscated Stark Industries EDITH drones.

This was proof that Tony’s technology was not gone. Some of his most lethal creations were available to the government, and it was unclear how much control Stark Industries had over its previous projects.

Pepper Potts Didn’t Go Bankrupt, But Tony’s Legacy Became A Target

Pepper was already a billionaire businesswoman before Tony’s death, and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ showed her continuing to support his work and fight alongside him as Rescue. She also played a role in founding Stark Relief Foundation, proving that the company’s legacy was not just in weapons and military technology.

But there’s been no official word from Marvel on whether Pepper will continue to hold the CEO position, or if Stark Industries will continue to function at its old level. That’s what makes ‘VisionQuest’ so interesting.

There are several characters and organizations that may be interested in further developing technology related to Tony’s legacy, so it seems like it’s everyone’s business. Pepper may have left, but the rest of the MCU hasn’t. While Tony Stark may no longer be able to create his greatest inventions in his lab, the world is still feeling the effects of his work.
