Marvel’s ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law‘ came like a fresh breeze amid some not-so-good shows and films from MCU lately. Created by Jessica Gao, the show has met with mostly positive responses with particular praise for Tatiana Maslany’s performance in the lead role.
Gao, who is the head writer and creator of the show, has recently revealed that there was a time when she nearly quit the MCU show. It has some connection to the Marvel chief Kevin Feige. Let’s find out what exactly happened and what made Gao change her mind and stay.
‘She-Hulk’ Writer Jessica Gao Nearly Quit The Show
Jessica Gao is the creator and head writer of Marvel’s recent outing, ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.’ The show has been praised for its acting and storyline but its visual effects met with a lot of criticism.
However, there was a time when Gao was close to quitting the show. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she opened up about how Kevin Feige encouraged her to not have a typical ending. “Kevin was the one who said, ‘There’s no reason to do a big Marvel ending’, she said.
The two were quickly at loggerheads over the design of the AI K.E.V.I.N as shown in the finale. “I was incensed, and in this big meeting, in front of like 20 people, I said, ‘Kevin, if you don’t let me put a hat on that robot, then I quit,’” Gao recalled.
“And then there was a split second pause, and he just went, ‘Thank you very much, Jessica. You’ve done some great work for us, and we really appreciate everything.’” Jackson Sze, the vis-dev team head, mediated and offered a solution.

Kevin’s Response To Being Turned Into An AI
In the final episode of the show, Jen Walters/She-Hulk breaks the fourth wall and uses a Disney+ interface to show up at Marvel Studios where she talks about the show’s ending with a Kevin Feige-inspired AI named K.E.V.I.N.
Talking about how Kevin responded to that, Gao said “He was very supportive.” She continued, “A lot of the conversation in that scene is taken from conversations that I’ve had with him, but the one sticking point that we had over this entire thing was whether or not the robot would be wearing a hat.”
The show premiered on August 18 on Disney+ and ran for nine episodes until October 13. In November 2019, Kevin said that the character will crossover into the MCU films.
