‘X-Men ‘97’ Midseason Trailer Hints At Avengers Captain America Cameo

Ever since its release X-Men ‘97has delighted its audience with its great storyline and animation. With 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.9/10 on IMDB the series has stood up to the expectations of its viewers and the critics.

The first half of the season concluded with its fifth episode which was released on 10th April 2024. Marvel then released the trailer for the show’s upcoming episode. What came as a surprise to the fans was a brief moment of Captain America’s shield in the trailer. Also, Wolverine and Nightcrawler made an appearance fighting alongside each other. As a treat to fans, it even featured Beast and Jean Grey heading into battle further teasing all the upcoming action.

While Captain America’s appearance was a surprise to the viewers, it wasn’t the first time that the shielded Avengers appeared in an X-Men project. Previously, he made a surprise appearance in ‘X-Men: The Animated Series’ which was released in 1997.

X-Men: The Animated Series’ primarily focused on the adventures of characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, and Jean Grey. However, One memorable cameo was that of Captain America in the two-part episode ‘Old Soldiers’ during the second season. 

In this special episode, Wolverine reminisces about his time fighting alongside Captain America during World War 2. This moment offered fans a glimpse into their shared history. It also highlighted their bond as fellow soldiers further taking a deeper look into their relationship.
