2023 is the year for the spy universe! Gal Gadot’s ‘Heart of Stone‘ and Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One‘ are all set to release this year along with Henry Cavill’s ‘Argylle’. Produced by Apple Studios and Marv Studios, it is not the first spy film Matthew Vaugh has directed. Vaugh has previously produced, directed, and co-written the ‘Kingsman‘ franchise as well.
From ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E’, ‘Enola Holmes’ to the upcoming Guy Ritchie’s spy caper ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’, the spy universe time and again reeled in Henry Cavill. Also, the upcoming Apple TV+ ‘Argylle‘ found its very own James Bond in Henry Cavill. The actor might be the only appropriate actor beat Daniel Craig’s alluring portrayal of Bond. After the delayed release, here’s everything to know about ‘Argylle’.

According to Apple TV+ Argylle is “A spy thriller that follows the globe-trotting adventures of a super-spy named Argylle across the U.S., London, and other exotic locations.” The film is based on soon to be published spy novel by Ellie Conway of the same name, which follows the adventures of the world’s greatest spy as he is caught up in a globe-trotting adventure.
Matthew Vaughn, the director and producer of ‘Argylle‘ said, “When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s.” Also according to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Argylle‘ will be the first film that is intended to be just one of a three-outing series, solidifying Cavill’s status as a man who never met a franchise he didn’t love.

Meet The Cast Of ‘Argylle’
Henry Cavill will be Apple TV+’s very own James Bond, playing the protagonist of ‘Argylle‘. Interestingly this would have been the debut film of Dua Lipa, but since the movie was pushed from 2022 to 2023 with no definite release date, the fans will see Dua Lipa’s mermaid Barbie in ‘Barbie‘ before her entry in the glamorous spy film. As exotic as the locations of ‘Argylle‘ are, the cast is equally glamorous, including John Cena, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
The three times Grammy winner, Dua Lipa is gradually dipping her toes in acting. In an episode of her podcast. ‘Dua Lipa: At Your Service‘, the ‘Levitating‘ singer shared her experience taking baby steps into acting: “It’s been really great, there’s just parts about, you know, wanting to do small things, for me at the moment that I feel comfortable that I can deliver in. I think the fear of people’s opinion and not being good at something like that still scares me whether it’s like a small role, especially when it’s something that I’ve never really done before.”
