Does ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Have A Post-Credits Scene?

The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘ brings to the big screen moments of excitement we’ve experienced playing video games. People are rushing to see Mario’s (Chris Pratt) fish-out-of-water story of saving the Mushroom Kingdom. The movie is receiving praise for being authentic to video games and could be looking to return with a sequel.

‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘ has done the highest opening day business of all movies released in 2023 with a $377 million collection globally. It also broke the record for the highest opening for an animated film, previously held by ‘Frozen 2‘ with $358 Million. Like always, people who haven’t seen the movie are looking to find out if it has a post-credits scene they should be aware of.

‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘ has not one, but two scenes to look out for after the movie ends. In the film, Bowser is defeated by being shrunk down upon coming in contact with the Blue Mushroom. The movie’s mid-credits scene finds Bowser (Jack Black) trapped in a bottle and singing a love ballad for Princess Peaches on his piano. However, he’s now in a birdcage in the Mushroom Kingdom. The Toads on guard duty ask him to hush his playing.

In the post-credits scene, a fan-favorite character from the video games makes his appearance. A giant green egg finds itself in the sewers of Brooklyn. The egg begins to crack, and Yoshi’s cry is heard, but the film abruptly cuts to black. We never see it, but it is the beloved dinosaur Yoshi. Yoshi will likely accompany Mario and Luigi on their adventures if the film goes for a sequel.
