‘Downton Abbey: New Era‘ was released in 2022, and since then, speculation over a third part set in the realm of the British aristocracy has gripped fans. ‘Downton Abbey‘ is a historical drama that focuses on the lives of the Crawleys in the 20th century and the other people, including servants, who live in the estate. The show has spurred two movie sequels after six successful seasons.
The third and final part of the movie is now happening. It was recently confirmed by the actress who plays a role in the movie.
On Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 show (via Radio Times), Imelda Staunton, who plays the role of (Maud Bagshaw) on ‘Downton Abbey‘ was with her real-life husband Jim Carter on the show and they confirmed that the third part of the movie is happening. “There will be the final film – there you go,” she said.
But there is still no confirmation on the release date and shooting schedule of the movie. Well, fans are eagerly waiting though.

What To Expect From ‘Downton Abbey 3’?
The movie is the third installment and could be the final part. A new era could be introduced for the Crawleys with some new characters in the scenario. Unfortunately, Maggie Smith, the dominating and amusing Dowager died at the end of the last sequel, so obviously, she won’t return. Some sources say that there is a possible entry of an Oscar nominee actor Also, as this could be the last part of the franchise, the makers would be focusing on a good ending for both characters and the storyline.
The expected cast to return includes Michelle Dockery as Lady Mary Talbot, Laura Carmichael as Lady Edith, Elizabeth McGovern as Cora, Hugh Bonneville as Robert Crawley, Samantha Bond as Lady Rosamund Painswick, Allen Leech as Tom Branson and Tuppence Middleton as Lucy Branson.
But still, no information has been revealed related to the storyline as of now. The movie would probably be ready by 2025 and let’s see what it brings to the theatres.
