‘Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum’ is the upcoming LOTR movie that has the whole fandom pumped. Viewers are super excited about the movie that is going to be released sometime in 2026. Most excitingly, many of the original actors have shared their interest in joining the cast.
Previously, Viggo Mortensen and Ian McKellen expressed that they are not against making a comeback. Now, Frodo actor Elijah Wood has also said that it would be exciting to come back as the character in the upcoming movie.
Elijah Wood To Return As Frodo?
Recently at the Fantasia Film Festival, Elijah Wood was seen on the red carpet for the promotion of his new film ‘Bookworm’. In an interview with JoBlo, the actor revealed that he is interested in making a comeback as Frodo.
Wood played Frodo in all the ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies. When asked whether he wishes to return for the upcoming ‘Hunt For Gollum’ movie, the actor said, “It would be pretty incredible. I have to say, any return to New Zealand to work with those individuals within the context of that world would be…jumping back into a world that’s so beloved and means so much to me. So yeah, it would be awesome.”

Andy Serkis To Direct ‘The Hunt For Gollum’
Warner Bros Studios revealed that the new ‘Lord of the Rings‘ movie will be directed by Andy Serkis. Serkis will also be playing Gollum, the protagonist of the movie. Along with Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen and Ian McKellen have also expressed their wish to return in their roles in the upcoming movie.
In an interview with The Statesman, Andy Serkis said, “Yesssss, Precious. The time has come once more to venture into the unknown with my dear friends.” He continued, “The extraordinary and incomparable guardians of Middle Earth Peter, Fran and Philippa. With Mike and Pam, and the Warner Bros team on the quest as well, alongside WETA and our filmmaking family in New Zealand, it’s just all too delicious…”
