Hold on tight as the upcoming movie ‘Foe’ from Amazon Studios is going to blow your minds delving into human relationships and artificial intelligence. Based on the 2018 novel of the same name written by Iain Reid, the film is directed by Garth Davis.
The trailer for ‘Foe’ was released by Amazon Studios on August 24. The trailer focuses on the lead couple and how their relationship comes into question as their life is intruded on by a stranger. Set in bare and dry lands, the movie was filmed in Australia, mainly in Melbourne and Victoria. The project was first announced in 2021 and shot through the early months of 2022.

‘Foe’: Plot Details
The movie ‘Foe’ follows the lives of a couple, Junior and Hen living in a secluded far. Set in 2065, the place is sandy, hot, and deserted due to the climate changes. The arrival of a third character Terrance changes the lives of the married couple. He informs that Junior has been chosen to join a mission at the orbiting space station. However, Junior is reluctant to leave his wife.
Terrance, on the other hand, uses artificial intelligence to examine the relationship between the couple. He prepares them for their separation. The trailer throws light on how different the pair’s desires are. Thus questions the strength of Junior and Hen’s relationship. Relationships, an apocalyptic future, and space are themes that string the storyline together.

‘Foe’ is set to premiere at the New York Film Festival which begins on September 29, 2023. The movie will also have a theatre release across the US on October 6, 2023. This is the second Amazon Studios film to hit the theatres after ‘Air’. In addition, the movie will also be exclusively available on Prime Video.
The movie is directed, co-written, and produced by Garth Davis. He is best known for his limited series ‘Top of the Lake‘ and also his movie ‘Lion’. Oscar nominees Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal will appear as the married couple, Junior and Henrietta in the lead roles. And Aaron Pierre will be the stranger named Terrance.
