‘Harry Potter’: Why Forbidden Forest Is Actually Forbidden?

The Forbidden Forest in ‘Harry Potter‘ is one of the most mysterious and perilous places on the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. All students are strictly forbidden from entering it due to the many dangers that lurk within its veils of shadows. Nonetheless, Harry and his pals often enter the forest, exposing its mysteries while standing up to various magical creatures.

But why do you think the Forbidden Forest is forbidden? Let’s have a look at the major reasons fueling its sinister reputation.

The Dangerous Magical Creatures Of Forbidden Forest

The presence of many large evil creatures makes the Forbidden Forest very dangerous. Acromantulas – in other words, giant, sentient spiders-passionately stalk unwary travelers in packs. Werewolves stalk their prey on full moons in those woods, along with other deadly dangers. Thestrals too – winged horses whose spectral form is revealed only to those who have seen one of their kind die – a very unpleasant sight, albeit harmless enough. Then there are the Centaurs-the intelligent, and territorial beings who do not take kindly to intrusions by human beings. With all that, the environment becomes one which is very unpredictable and ripe for danger.

Dark Magic And Hidden Dangers

Aside from the beasts that inflict harm, shadowy magic and hidden dangers roam within the Forbidden Forest. After all, this was where Lord Voldemort himself was found sustaining his weakened state by feeding off unicorn blood.

It also serves as a safe haven for the outlaws and other evil creatures who wish to hide out. Its heavy darkness added to the silence creates an easy opportunity for anyone to stray off. This is precisely the reason why students are forbidden from wandering into the forest.
