The members of the inner circle have a ‘dark mark’ burned on their left forearm. This mark was a direct connection to Lord Voldemort.

Head of the Slytherin House, Professor Severus Snape is one of the loyal followers of Lord Voldemort, making him a Death-Eater. The reason not revealed in the movie- Snape joined the Dark Force because he was promised that Lily Potter- the love of his life can be brought back from death. Not only Snape, but Lucius Malfoy, and Bellatrix Lestrange were also loyal followers of Lord Voldemort. Their sole purpose was to serve their master and make him happy. Draco Malfoy is the youngest recruit during the Second Wizarding War. He was ordered to assassin Albus Dumbledore, which he failed to accomplish twice.
