Dark magic is something very powerful and disturbing, and every Wizard stays away from it. Tom Riddle is no ordinary wizard! But what pushed him to become The Dark Lord?

Well, as Potterheads, the tragic history of Tom Riddle is well known. The journey from Tom Riddle to Lord Voldemort is indeed very dark. As he feared death, Lord Voldemort created something called the Horcrux – dividing fragments of his soul and hiding them into objects of value. With each Horcrux made, Tom Riddle lost a piece of humanity, hence becoming The Dark Lord. Lord Voldemort is the anagram of his birth name – Tom Marvolo Riddle. Who Are Death Eaters?

The Death-Eaters are the elite group that is the most zealous followers of Lord Voldemort. Initially, the elite group consisted of wizards and witches who were radical pure-blood supremacists and practiced the Dark Arts without fearing the wizarding laws. They wore black hoods and masks with snake-like eye silt to cover their faces. Lord Voldemort used this elite group in the first and the second Wizarding Wars. The members of the inner circle have a ‘dark mark’ burned on their left forearm. This mark was a direct connection to Lord Voldemort.

Head of the Slytherin House, Professor Severus Snape is one of the loyal followers of Lord Voldemort, making him a Death-Eater. The reason not revealed in the movie is that Snape joined the Dark Force because he was promised that Lily Potter- the love of his life- could be brought back from death. Not only Snape, but Lucius Malfoy, and Bellatrix Lestrange were also loyal followers of Lord Voldemort. Their sole purpose was to serve their master and make him happy. Draco Malfoy is the youngest recruit during the Second Wizarding War. He was ordered to assassinate Albus Dumbledore, which he failed to accomplish twice. On his third attempt, he managed to corner and disarm him before deciding not to kill Dumbledore.
