In ‘Pretty Woman‘, Julia Roberts played the role of Vivian Ward, a charismatic sex worker who was hired by Richard Gere’s Edward Lewis. Over the course of a few days, the two fell in love and got over the challenges posed by their very different worlds. The film helped Roberts win an Oscar nomination and significantly contributed to her success.

For ‘Notting Hill‘, Julia played the role of an actress, Anna Scott who meets Hugh Grant’s William Thacker. The two end up loving each other but Anna’s fame and stardom act as a barrier between the two. The film is one of the most iconic movies of the 90s and is one of Roberts’ most memorable portrayals.

Julia Roberts and Richard Gere came together a few years later for ‘Runaway Bride, where she plays Maggie Carpenter, a small-town girl infamously leaving men at the altar. Her notoriety for being a runaway bride makes her a media sensation, in which media columnist Ike Graham (played by Gere) gets interested.

Now almost three decades after the films, Roberts has revealed what her characters’ futures might look like.

Roberts revealed that she believed that Edward died soon after the plot of ‘Pretty Woman;’ ended. She said, “I think he passed away peacefully in his sleep from a heart attack, smiling. And now she runs his business.”

As for Maggie from ‘Runaway Bride‘, Roberts revealed that “They stay together. He doesn’t die in this one. They’re gonna stay together.”

For ‘Notting Hill‘, Julia said that Anna most likely left acting and is a happy mom: “She’s retired. She has six children and has maintained her waist size, amazingly.”

As for Hugh’s William Thacker, Julia thinks that he is still the same. “He runs the bookshop still. And now there’s a little knitting annex to the bookshop that she runs,” she said.
