in 2022, Jamie Lee Curtis had confirmed that the ‘Freaky Friday‘ sequel is, in fact, happening. The actress said, “There is no scheduled date, but we’re talking. People are talking. The right people are talking.”

She then added, “I’m 64 in a week and Lindsay is 36…[A sequel] lends itself so beautifully,” Curtis said. “We’re both committed to it, and it’s not ours to make. It’s Disney’s to make and I think they’re interested and we’re talking.”

Talking about a potential storyline, Curtis said, “So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon… And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”

After her, now Lindsay Lohan has confirmed and shared new details about the sequel that’s happening.

The actress shared more exciting details about the follow-up project to the 2003 hit film. Lohan said on SiriusXM’s ‘Andy Cohen Live that filming is in process as of now, but she is “just excited to work with Jamie again and see how much further we can take it.”

Because we talk almost every other day in general, so I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with this,” Lohan added.

As for how the idea came along, Jamie Lee Curtis had previously revealed, “As I went around the world with Halloween Ends, people wanted to know if there was going to be another Freaky Friday. Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made.’”

Lohan added that she and Curtis were “both open” to a sequel. “We would only make something that people would absolutely adore,” she added.

Further details on the sequel are now awaited.
