In an interview with Fox News Digital, Wahlberg talked about romancing the ‘X-Men‘ star and how it is perhaps a dream every man holds. The film is set against the backdrop of two characters, who are also high school buddies, on a government mission. As it further unfolds, the stars get into some steamy moves on-screen. Mark Wahlberg Talks About Romancing Halle Berry In ‘The Union’
In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Mark Wahlberg opened up about his experience of working with Halle Berry in his upcoming film ‘The Union’. The movie follows the story a construction worker from New Jersey, played by Wahlberg, who gets roped into “a high-stakes US intelligence mission” by his high school sweetheart, played by Halle Berry.
Mark Wahlberg plays Mike and Halle Berry plays Roxanne, and the two end up getting mired into a complicated relationship that also features some intimate scenes. Speaking of the same, Wahlberg said, “Halle, her and I have known each other for such a long time and this movie is going to be so great because it’s every guy’s fantasy, to think that they got a shot with Halle Berry.”
Wahlberg further continued to explain the dynamics between the two characters as he noted, “They were childhood sweethearts, and they come back together. He basically waited 25 years for her to come back, walk back through that door and into his life, and it happens, and there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do to prove himself to her if he got a second chance.”

Mark Wahlberg On Portraying Romance On-Screen
Though its release is just a couple of months away, Netflix has not revealed much about the upcoming film. However, Wahlberg did give a gist of its story during the interview, as he explained that his character holds the intention to prove himself to the girl of his dreams. He also noted that was actually what motivated his acting in the film.
“For me, that was the whole motivation of the character: just do anything he could to not screw it up again,” he said, further admitting that it’s “a little weird” to act in a romantic relationship on screen. Both Berry and him are in happy relationships in real life, and have also known each other as friends since a long time.
However, professionalism comes first for both of them. “I think it’s a little weird anyway when you’re portraying some sort of romance onscreen, it’s not normal, but my wife knows that she is my everything. She is the most special woman in the world,” Wahlberg said.
